The current state of Western civilization is undoubtedly a bad one. Many of the problems we face were created by the increasing dominance of liberal, progressive, and globalist views. However, it is pointless to blame liberals, progressives, and globalists for the destruction they’ve caused. Traditionalists and conservatives have also played a part by relinquishing their responsibility not only to decelerate ‘progress’ but to hold and retake territory where new and progressive approaches have failed.
The political landscape today is far more nuanced than a simple dichotomy of liberal/progressive/globalist versus conservative/traditionalist/nationalist. Recent years have forced more and more ‘classical liberals’, libertarians, anarchists, Christians, and apolitical individuals to rally against the extreme insanities brought upon us by the radical left. This situation has led to unexpected alliances and personal transformations. Many who once identified as classical liberals now embrace a conservative stance; others, like myself, are so fed up with the status quo that far-right positions are taken up happily, despite still having a ‘lefty’ heart. Desperate times require desperate measures, after all.
However, this potpourri of political and social backgrounds brings challenges, some of which significantly hinder the fight against 'woke'.
To highlight these challenges, I want to ask you for a small favour.
I would like you to sign a petition for a Minister for Men and Boys.Â
If you've signed the petition, thank you. If not, you might justify your decision with reasons such as scepticism about the effectiveness of petitions, distrust in the government as being anything other than a Machiavellian lying machine, or disbelief in the necessity of a Minister for Men and Boys. While these reservations are understandable, I want to persuade you to reconsider.
To do something presupposes the Will to make change, however minor that action might seem. We may be disempowered right now, but there are things we can do. There is evidence to suggest that men and boys face unique challenges and discrimination in certain areas. Despite the presence of multiple ministers and commissioners advocating for women's issues, a similar advocate for men and boys is conspicuously absent. Nevertheless, with substantial support from several MPs and a growing acknowledgement of these challenges, there is a realistic opportunity to establish such a position.
You would be correct to say that petitions don’t have the wanted effect unless the petition suits the machine. It is also possible that feminist interests would control a Minister for Men and Boys, and it’s true that even a based Minister for Men would struggle to make a huge difference. I agree that our government should be dramatically smaller, not bigger. And yet, you should still sign this petition. It is not the time to be squeamish; it’s a time to fight as many battles as your energy and sanity permit. The simplest form of support might be leaving a ‘like’ under a video or article. If you're feeling courageous, why not ‘share’ or leave a supportive comment? Why not sign a petition that is generally in the right direction, even if you would have phrased it differently?Â
Would you now sign our petition for a Minister for Men and Boys? No? Then let me appeal to your kindness, if it exists.
The world is challenging, and the fight against the dominant feminist narrative, which pervades all societal levels, including the government, is arduous and disheartening. We know it will take decades to see significant changes, if any. Yet some, like Don Quixote, persist in their battle against the odds. You might think that their fight is pointless, but it is not. They carry a candle through a storm, keeping the flame alive. Eventually, the rain will end, the ground will dry and the candle can start a bushfire. Cultural shifts need time, and there's a right moment for everything. Your support, no matter how small, lays the groundwork, keeps the flame alive, and prevents those enduring the storm from succumbing to despair. Don’t scorn them for being dreamers; dreams are what sustain us through the night.
Now, please sign and share the petition, and continue to support the Lotus Eaters.
